2024 Overlay project update

Residents of Mesa County will drive into the new year on smoother roads now that the Mesa County Road and Bridge team has completed their 2024 Overlay project, which addressed four surface treatment road projects in areas of the Redlands, Orchard Mesa, and Clifton.

County ​sees ​success in Japanese Beetle ​control ​efforts

Mesa County’s aggressive efforts to combat the invasive Japanese ​Beetle are showing significant progress. In 2024, the County treated 1,428 acres of turf, a notable increase from 1,200 acres in 2023. This proactive approach led to an 8​6% decrease in Japanese Beetle captures.

Road and Bridge Contract Approved for Essential Salt Shed

When snowy weather hits Mesa County, our Road and Bridge employees drive the streets day and night, plowing and dispersing salt to ensure our roads are safe and ready to take residents where they need to go — at the County Commissioners' Dec. 10 public hearing they approved a $146,001 contract to construct a salt shed to store essential road salt.
